AirPlay, Chromecast and Miracast do not talk to each other, which is why an iPhone will not cast to a Chromecast and an Android phone will not AirPlay to an Apple TV. Why is my screen mirroring not working?
Most often the phone and the TV are on different Wi-Fi networks, the TV's AirPlay or screen mirroring setting is off, or the two devices use different standards. AirPlay, Chromecast and Miracast do not talk to each other. Put both on the same Wi-Fi, enable mirroring on the TV, and if the brands still refuse, use a receiver that runs in any web browser.
Why won't my iPhone mirror to my Samsung or LG TV?
iPhones mirror with AirPlay, which must be switched on in the TV settings under General and Apple AirPlay Settings. AirPlay 2 is only built into Samsung TVs from 2018 and LG TVs from 2019. On older sets, open a browser based receiver on the TV and connect with a 6 digit code instead.
Why does screen mirroring keep dropping or lagging?
Almost always weak or busy Wi-Fi. Move closer to the router, switch to 5 GHz, lower the resolution and stop other downloads. The Wi-Fi speed test for mirroring will confirm whether your network is the bottleneck.
How can I mirror when AirPlay, Chromecast or Miracast will not connect?
Skip the built-in standard. Open the Screen Mirroring receiver in the TV's browser at tvee.app and connect the sender with the 6 digit code. It works across brands and even over the internet.
