Screen Mirroring App Tutorials

How to mirror your Android phone to a Chromecast

Android has Cast built in, so the quickest way to a Chromecast or Google TV is one tap in the Google Home app. When you want more control, or to cast over the internet, the free Screen Mirroring app does that too.

Quick answer

To cast your Android screen to a Chromecast, the fastest way is Google Home: Open the app, pick your Chromecast, and tap Cast my screen. For more control or casting over the internet, use the free Screen Mirroring app, which launches the receiver on the Chromecast and connects with a code.

  • An Android phone and a Chromecast or Google TV
  • Both on the same Wi-Fi network
  • The free Screen Mirroring app (for the app method)

Step by step - the app method

Mirror Android to Chromecast with the app

Start the receiver on the Chromecast

In the app, tap Launcher Website, press Launch Mirroring, and pick your Chromecast so the receiver opens on the TV. On a Google TV or Android TV, you can instead install Screen Mirroring to Chromecast from Google Play and open it.

Join the same Wi-Fi

Put your Android phone on the same Wi-Fi network as the Chromecast.

Connect the app

The receiver shows a QR code and a six character ID. In the app, scan the QR code or enter the ID and tap Connect.

Start mirroring

Tap Start Mirroring, then tap Start now on the Android screen capture prompt.

Your Android appears on the Chromecast

Your phone screen now shows on the Chromecast. To end, tap Stop Mirroring in the app.

Casting over the internet? The app has a Mirror over Internet option that connects by ID. If nothing shows on the TV, the troubleshooter can help.
